NYCEF provides a forum for regular contact and exchanges between epidemiologists working in academic and other institutions in the New York City Metropolitan Area, with a special focus on junior researchers, including junior faculty, post-docs, fellows, and doctoral students. NYCEF fosters increased awareness about research conducted in other institutions in New York City and surrounding areas, and provide opportunities for researchers to present their work, with the overall goals of promoting bilateral or multi-site collaborative projects and enhancing career opportunities for junior investigators.

Institutions participating in NYCEF include: Albert Einstein College of Medicine, CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy, CUNY School of Medicine,  Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, Icahn Medical School at Mount Sinai, Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New Jersey Department of Health, New York Academy of Medicine, NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, NYU College of Global Public Health, New York Medical College, New York University School of Medicine, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Rutgers University School of Public Health,  SUNY Downstate Medical Center, SUNY at Stony Brook, and Weill Cornell Medical College.



The annual NYCEF conference provides a forum for epidemiologists working in the New York City area to present their work and discuss opportunities for collaborations. The conference includes oral presentations, posters and discussion sessions. The conference is expected to lead to new collaborative activities, such as networks with shared resources, joint educational programs, etc.



Epidemiologists working in the New York City area are invited to submit an abstract through the conference website, and to register for the conference. A Scientific Committee, including representatives from each institution, reviews the abstracts, selects and assigns them to thematic sessions.

Abstracts are expected to include on-going or recently completed projects, as well as plans for new projects.  Abstracts will be collated in an e-book. Awards will be given to the best abstracts.

Deadline for abstract submission: December 31, 2018 - 11:59pm (EST)

Notification of abstract selection: January 29, 2019

Deadline for registration: CLOSED

 No registration fee will be charged.

Refreshments (breakfast, lunch and afternoon coffee) will be provided.

A lactation room will be available at the forum venue. It is a single-use room, located next to the women’s restroom on the 2nd floor. The room is always unlocked unless occupied.
